Common Questions About the Patient Portal
When should I use the First Choice Medical Center patient portal?
Use our patient portal for select non-urgent account, scheduling, refill, or messaging tasks when we direct you to. What the portal can do depends on your access and our process. If you aren't sure whether the portal is the right place, just give us a call.
Should emergencies go through the portal?
No. Please don't use the portal for emergencies. For emergency symptoms, call 911. For urgent medical questions, call us or seek urgent or emergency care. Portal messages may not be reviewed right away, so they're not the place for time-sensitive concerns.
Can the patient portal be used for medication questions?
If you are an established patient, you can use the portal for select non-urgent medication questions when it's appropriate. Some refill, safety, monitoring, or side-effect questions may need a visit, a lab review, or a phone call. We can let you know the best way to reach us for your situation.
What if I cannot access the portal?
Give us a call if your portal access isn't working, your login details are unclear, or you aren't sure the portal is the right place for your question. For routine office details, the contact page can help. For emergency symptoms, call 911. Please don't delay urgent needs because of a portal access issue.
